ABOUT US
It's better to be an optimist and be wrong than a pessimist and be right.
It's better to be an optimist and be wrong than a pessimist and be right.
A group of friends fell in love with a place called Todos Santos. What started as "we should do this someday" slowly turned into an actual plan, and then an actual closing date. Between us, we'd spent decades building rooms people didn't want to leave, running venues, filling them night after night, and it turned out that same instinct translated to wanting to create a space that people didn’t want to leave. A boutique hotel in one of the most unique and intentional places in Baja. Our friend Andy Frasco’s most recent album became the reason for the name. La Optimista. It made sense because we were all optimists and wanted to create a place where people could leave feeling even better than when they arrived. A place people could live on the brightside. A place where people could come together to celebrate, relax, rejoice, heal, unite, and create friendships.
...in Todos Santos in the fall of 2025. Ocean view, full of character, exactly the kind of place we could make our own.
It had already been somebody's life's work. The previous owner, Barb, grew up in the South and brought her own sense of southern hospitality with her when she fell in love with this small town in Baja. Twenty three years ago she bought the property. It was just a piece of land with a small adobe hut at the time. She had a vision for what it could become. She named it Casa Flores Casitas.
We aren’t replacing what was there or Barb’s vision. We are building on it and improving the property to enhance the experiences of our future guests. New name, new concept, a full renovation, top to bottom, but with the same spirit that made people never want to leave.
